What are piano lessons like for kids?
I have always enjoyed playing the piano...But as a kid, I didn't always enjoy piano lessons! Actually, at one point I regularly hid in the closet before my lesson so I could avoid going.
Why?
For one, there were certain songs in my books that I HATED. I refused to practice them and so got stuck for weeks with no progress. Once I brought a Disney song book to my lesson, but my teacher discouraged me from bringing it again because to her it wasn't "real" music. No wonder I hid in the closet!
At Teachout Music Studio, lessons cater to your child's personality and interests, so your child can engage at the piano in ways that excite them, and they can play the music they enjoy the most.
Additionally, your child can move at their own speed so pacing in lessons is always just right, never frustrating or boring.
They also learn all their music with me during their lesson so they learn more music faster, and can play their music at home with independence and ease. Additionally, kids have access to games, resources and a variety of music in the studio so they can discover and pursue their own musical interests.
Because kids learn best through play, music lessons feel fun and easy, not dull.
You will be amazed at what your child can do in a very short time!
After only ONE lesson your child will:
Demonstrate the 6 foundations of piano technique
Play 3-5 songs
Make up a song of their own
Play a duet with the teacher
Learn a new song all on their own
And within only 6 months your child will:
Play songs you can recognize including favorite holiday, popular and Disney songs
Read music on the grand staff, just like professionals do
Perform in front of family and friends in a studio recital with confidence
Demonstrate learning strategies that they can apply to any subject, not just music!
